Kelowna 2026: Could be worse, I guess

About

Me, with short brown hair, in a white t-shirt against a plain white background

I'm eren, a software engineer and musician based in Kelowna. I went to jazz school and studied bass and guitar. I also love to ride motorcycles. I try to see the best in Kelowna. We have a lot of potential!

My values

Candidates need real solutions. That means clear, specific plans that could actually work. "I will fix things" with no plan behind it ranks low, no matter how good it sounds.

These are the issues I care about most:

  1. Transportation & transit: Better transit, safe ways to walk and bike, and less need for a car.
  2. Affordability & housing: Housing above all, plus the general cost of living.
  3. Drug crisis response: Housing first, which means giving people a home before asking them to get sober. Harm reduction, which means keeping people who use drugs alive and safer. Ideas backed by evidence. Forcing people into treatment counts against a candidate.

These are nice to have:

For school trustees, I mostly look at one thing:

These count against a candidate:

How I rank candidates

Each candidate gets a score out of 10. The score shows how well they match the values above. It is my own judgement, not a formula. Within each seat, I list candidates from highest to lowest score. When two candidates tie, I list them in alphabetical order.
